Brainstorming for this first project has been interesting. I feel as though I have so many different directions I could choose for the pages of my zine. One direction I could go is along the lines of my artist inspiration from my childhood - fashion design, sketches, patterns, runways etc... Another idea I have would be a depiction of a picnic, with food, checkers, nature, snippets of family and friends or whoever with whom you would want to share a peaceful time with food outdoors.
When it comes to the technical side of creating a zine, I have experience with both photoshop and Illustrator but I still learned a few new tricks through the labs last week in class. AI has improved the tools I already knew as well. They are much more precise now as opposed to when I first learned them. They have made editing and manipulating images infinitely easier and more precise. I have also made a zine in the past during an independent study - copycatting different graphic designers I admire and creating pieces in their style. This zine will be all my own and I am excited to get started down the path of my design style self discovery
