I am graduating from college in May. Last year was the last time I would ever have a "summer break" unless somehow I became a teacher. That has had me somewhat sad when thinking about graduation and how free time will be less spontaneous, more planned out, having to take PTO, etc... yet I was with my friends who have already graduated and they actually prefer their schedules now with their jobs out of school than they did with inconsistent student schedules. That gave me more peace about moving forward honestly. My whole life does not revolve around summer - that's cheesy- but I do love the opportunities it has for fun, adventure, spending more time outdoors, doing things I love. So I do look forward to it as I am sure most do. Thus to explain my zine content, I have never not been a student and embarking on that journey will not be as boring as some Disney movies or books about being a kid make it seem. Memories are made your entire life and beauty, fun, light, and life are not just part of "summer vacation." I made this zine about the memories I have made and some I hope to make in the future during my favorite season. This piece includes music, laughter, art, the outdoors, travel, food, and more that fill my mind when I picture my ideal summer. I hope you enjoy it.
